125

In 2008 the Boys' Brigade celebrates its 125th Anniversary. In 1883 William Alexander Smith founded the 1st Glasgow Company and started an organisation which today works with millions of children and young people across the globe.

Anchor Boys

Anchor Boys have lots of fun doing different activities which include making things, crafts, music, games, sports, stories going on visits, making friends, and working towards their badges.

Junior Section

Junior Section meetings are crammed full of challenges, games and activities, usually ones that they themselves have suggested. There are hundreds of activities catering for just about every possible interest.

Company Section

The activities in Company Section are based around the Discover Programme. The aims of the section is to encourage boys to take part in a fun, balanced and challenging programme; to be recognised for their effort and achievement and to have the change to

Senior Section

Senior Section boys will often also work towards their President’s Badge and Queen’s Badge and also undertake the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme

The first Boys' Brigade company was set up by Sir William Alexander Smith on 4 October, 1883, to develop

Object, Motto, Emblem, Hymn and Flags of the Boys' Brigade. The advancement of Christ's Kingdom among boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-Respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.

Anchor Boys Badges

The aim of the Activity Scheme is to provide the boys with some recognition for their participation in the section programme.

Junior Section Badges

The Junior Award Scheme is a part of the programme for Junior Section boys. The aim of the Scheme is to provide the boys with some recognition for their participation in the section programme.

Company Section Badges

President's Badges

The President's Badge is the second highest award in the Boys' Brigade. It is awarded to young men who have completed sections including: activities, residential, challenges, Christian faith and Brigade service.

Senior Section Badges

Queen's Badge

The Queens Badge is the highest award a member can gain in the Boys Brigade. The Queens Badge is a balanced programme. It aims to challenge and equip the individual, provide new opportunities and expand horizons while remaining accessible to Candidates of
